Recreational Activities and Social Events at Mayflower Place
On any given day, residents of Mayflower Place can enjoy a range
of recreational activities and social events – from painting classes to concerts
to in-house art exhibits. Mayflower Place residents say their lives are enriched
through the people they meet and the friendships they make while renewing
once-favorite pastimes or engaging in new hobbies.
Some of the most popular activities at
Mayflower Place include: live dramatic performances, travelogues, cocktail
parties and themed socials, and Yoga classes.

Painting Class
Offered every Friday from 2-4 pm in the Craft Room
Local artists offer beginners and more
experienced painters an opportunity to explore their creativity, focus on
technique, and share their ideas.
The Putting Green
The “Mayflower Putters” gather weekly on the Mayflower
Green. During inclement weather, an indoor putting green is available in the
Theater. “Top” putters are recognized during weekly contests. Golfers of all
ability are encouraged to join.
The Book Club
One of newest activities at Mayflower Place, The Book
Club is also one of most popular. The clubs boasts a healthy membership, which
upon selection of a book, meets for four weeks to read and discuss. Residents
say conversation is “lively”.
Musical Entertainment of Many Genres
Every month Mayflower Place offers a wide range of
musical programs, from classical concerts by the Cape Cod Symphony to the
toe-tapping sounds of local favorites, such as the All Worn-Out Jug Band.

In-house Art Exhibits
Every two months, a new art exhibit is unveiled in the
Mayflower Place Theater. This program, courtesy of the Marketing Department and
Joanne Johnson, Director of Community Relations, offers welcome exposure to the
works of many fine, local artists. Opening receptions offer residents the
opportunity to meet with the artists or purchase artwork. |
